dc.description.abstractThis paper presents findings from the data analysis of formal exit interviews conducted in New Zealand’s largest hotel brand. The data is from 24 hotels, covering all regions of New Zealand and provides comparable data (reasons for leaving, position, gender, tenure) for ten years, from 2000 to 2010. Across the 10 year period, 8,379 exit interviews have been analysed, comprising 74.2% of the 1,1289 workers employed in the organisation during this decade. This paper provides an initial, descriptive analysis of the figures and makes some tentative conclusions regarding the larger environmental factors affecting turnover
